Danny Lipford, a veteran remodeling contractor, is an expert on homes and home improvement. As host and executive producer of the nationally syndicated Today’s Homeowner with Danny Lipford® TV show and the Today’s Homeowner radio program, Danny helps homeowners keep up with the latest trends and understand the steps and products involved with both small and large home projects.
In addition, Danny has been the home improvement contributor for The Weather Channel and The Early Show on CBS where he provides home tips and advice. He also has appeared on other national television shows including LIVE with Regis & Kelly, Rachael Ray, and CNN’s Open House. Danny has been a contributing editor to Better Homes and Gardens magazine and his advice has also appeared in Parade, The New York Times and other publications.
As a contractor for more than 30 years, Danny speaks from experience. His friendly, reassuring manner and expert advice take some of the mystery—and fear—out of the home improvement process.
Danny Lipford’s interest in home improvement began at just nine years old when he bought his first electric jigsaw from a mail-order catalog with allowance money he had saved. At 21, he started his remodeling business, Lipford Construction in Mobile, Alabama, which soon became one of the most respected remodeling companies in the southeast.
His television journey started in 1988 when he was asked to host a small, live cable show in Mobile. This small show, Remodeling Today, grew throughout the region until it was nationally syndicated in 1998 and became Today’s Homeowner with Danny Lipford.
In 2000, Danny was asked by both The Weather Channel and CBS to be their on-air home improvement correspondents, a relationship that continues today. In January 2009, he entered the world of radio with the Today’s Homeowner with Danny Lipford weekly radio program.
Danny has been married for over twenty-five years to Sharon and has three beautiful daughters, affectionately referred to as the “3 Echoes.”
