There are lots of facets to this idea of living a more environmentally friendly life. Conserving energy, conserving water, using materials from sustainable sources, and the one I like best is recycling.

One of the labels you often see on recycled goods is post consumer recycling. This is one of the greenest forms of recycling because the material has served its purpose. Paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, or plastic bottles; but instead of clogging a landfill somewhere, it’s being re-used.

We’re saving landfill space, saving the energy used to acquire the raw materials, and saving the materials themselves. So make the decision to recycle at home and look for that post consumer label when you’re shopping for new items. If we contribute a little now, we all win in the long run.
