Dealing with the challenge of a big snowfall is like anything else, the first step is getting prepared, so keep the radio on to stay on top of the weather.

If snow or ice are in the forecast you’ll want to stock up on a few supplies in case it takes some time for the roads to get clear.

Besides groceries you’ll also want to be sure you have the fuel for heat if rely on something like propane, heating oil, or firewood.

Also, you’ll need gasoline, if you use a snow blower to clear the drive, or if you depend on a generator for back-up power during winter storms. In fact go ahead and test start those items now before the weather hits, so you know you can count on them to get you through.
