By: Jodi Marks

The EcoSmart LED recessed light bulb comes complete with metal trim and screws into any existing 6” recessed light fixture. The energy efficient LED (Light Emitting Diode) bulb produce 575 lumens of light (equal to a 65-watt incandescent bulb) while using only 10.5-watts of electricity, a savings of 85%.

LED light bulbs also last many times longer than incandescent or halogen bulbs and produce much less heat. The EcoSmart LED bulb is available at The Home Depot.

Talk to any home designer and you will find that they’ll put can lights in just about every room in your house, especially in your kitchen over the areas where you do a lot of prep work, say like around your kitchen island. Well, can lights are great – and typically we put halogen lights in there – but halogen lights don’t burn that long, and they get really hot.

Well, what’s and alternative where you can save energy too? Why not a LED can light? Take a look at this, EcoSmart has come out with a great product. This has an LED light in it; but look, this fits into any 6” opening for a recess can light. Now, everything is right here in the package, all you’ve got to do is take out the old fixture, pop in the new fixture into the housing inside the ceiling, and you’ll be good to go.

Here’s some points you’ll need to know about LED lights. First of all, this bulb right here is only a 10.5-watt bulb, but it gives off the amount of light of a 65-watt bulb. Also, look at the burn time. This can run up to 35,000 hours of burn time, as opposed to a halogen which only runs about 2,500. Again this is a very cool bulb, too, so it’s not going to get as hot as a halogen.

I tell you what, EcoSmart is pretty smart!

11 pages of video, fine. Scroll to page 5 (or any page), select one to see & it plays, good. After it plays I want to continue to page 6, but it jumps back to page 1 so I have to scroll through all of the pages, & adds, again. Why can’t it go back to the page I was on when I selected the video?

I recently purhased 6 of the Ecosmart bulbs to replace the halogen light in the 4″ downlights in the kitchen. Light quality is fine and they don’t give off all that heat that the halogens did. Good news, right. Well, it’s good news if you don’t want to listen to the radio or TV. It took me by surprise when the radio began having all kinds of interference and a few of the TV channels using the digital converter box simply wouldn’t come in if thise led lights were on. I don’t know if this is specifically due to this bulb or if this is common to all of the led replacements hitting the market, and I’m not sure if how to overcome the problem.
