Simple Solutions

Hang Time

By: Joe Truini

Very often painting or refinishing furniture takes huge amounts of time because you have to wait for one side of a piece to dry before you can turn it to work on another. To solve this problem try suspending small pieces between saw horses on nails or screws driven into concealed areas (for example the bottom of a leg.)

After one side is coated you can flip the piece by holding the nails or screws and coat the other side. Then hang the piece from the ceiling or rafters to dry while you continue coating the rest of the pieces. This hanging will not only free up your sawhorses but will allow the work to dry without dust settling on it.
