How to Plant a Family Vegetable Garden

A small family vegetable garden is a great way to get your children outside and interest them in gardening while putting delicious food on the table. Kits are available for starting your garden from seeds, or you can buy seedlings from a nursery.

You can plant your family vegetable gardens in containers on the patio, build a raised bed, or clear off a section of your backyard and plant them directly in the ground.

It’s important that your vegetable garden has the right combination of light, water, soil, and fertilizer for your plants to grow.
