How to Use Duct and Painter’s Tape

By: Danny Lipford

Tape is an important component of any shop or toolbox. Duct tape is sticky and durable which makes it perfect for a number of uses, both inside and out. Duct tape also comes in a range of colors including metallic, black, and even transparent.

Painter’s tape is another handy tape to have around your home or shop. Painter’s tape is used to create clean lines and protect surfaces when painting. Unlike standard masking tape, the adhesive on painter’s tape peels off easily without leaving a residue or damaging delicate surfaces.

Painter’s tape is available in rolls of various widths as well as individual squares such as Scotch-Blue Painter’s Tape for Corners and Hinges that is perfect for protecting window panes.
