The best way to make your home more energy efficient is to make sure you have enough insulation, such as foam or fiberglass, in your walls and attic.

If you’re building a new home, consider insulated concrete form (ICF) wall construction, which uses stackable foam blocks filled with concrete to achieve up to a 40 R-value in the walls.
