Camellia

Jane wants to grow her own camellias and needs some advice.

Danny,
I have been given a small camellia bought from a well-known supermarket.
It is bitterly cold here on the Isle of Arran in Scotland, so I intend to plant it outside in the spring.
What size of pot do I need? And where should I put it?
Jane Nichol

Jane,
I would suggest a minimum 12-inch pot with good, rich topsoil. One advantage in planting it in a pot is you can move it to an area with plenty of sun [as needed].
