I rode by today from Baldwin County and just fell in love what is happening here. History is worth saving and I appreciate Danny Lipford for believing in preserving the past. You could not build that house today. Great project.
So fascinating to see. Was the second owner of a Tudor (circa 1929) at 100 Country Club Road (about a mile from Kuppersmith home)from 1980-2000. These homes are so very interesting, especially when doing any renovations – finding things behind the walls (windows covered over) and the floors (hardwood covering terrazzo). There were buzzer buttons in several rooms to call the servants who lived in “quarters” in the back yard and a dirt “basement” with the sump pump and the remnants of the coal chute to supply the furnace! I could go on and on… Certainly wish I’d had the expertise (and unlimited funds)furnished by your group to do the renovations all at once. Can’t wait to see the results of your project.
