Power Sanders 101

Power sanders can complete a sanding job that would take hours by hand in a matter of minutes. There are many different types of power sanders to choose from, each with advantages and disadvantages, depending on the job at hand.
Power sanders consist of a motor that moves a sanding head which holds a sanding pad, belt, sleeve, or sheet of sandpaper. The motor causes the sandpaper to vibrate, rotate, or spin against the surface of the work.
