Removing unwanted and unpleasant odors in your home doesn’t mean you have to spray harsh chemicals everywhere, you just have to go to the source. If you have carpet and pets, chances are you’ve got some unwanted odors under foot.

Here’s a simple solution. Sprinkle baking soda all over your carpet, then lightly mist it with water. Then scrub the carpet vigorously with a stiff scrub brush to work the baking soda down into the fibers. Once it’s dry vacuum it well and the odors will be gone.

You can also attack smells through the house by adding a few drops of vanilla extract to your air filter for your heating and cooling system. All the air in the house will be treated several times an hour.
