Tips for Ventilating a Garage

Here’s a question from our 7/6/2019 Today’s Homeowner Radio Show.

Brent in Oklahoma says, “We have a 30-by-40-foot garage attached to a walkout basement.

“The garage is cinder block construction with a flat 4-inch-thick concrete roof that doubles as an uncovered patio for the ground floor. The garage is hot and humid in the summer and cold in the winter. The top patio surface is painted.

“What is the best sealer for this surface? How can I best insulate the garage? It was built in the 1960s.”

We tell Brent about ventilating the garage either by tucking an exhaust fan out through a window or cutting a space in the walls.
