5 Garage Flooring Ideas to Match Your Style
By: Thomas Boni
Converting a garage into a living space is a popular project these days. But whether you do that, or just want to give this space some style, it’s important to give some thought about how you want the space laid out.
First, consider the flooring. Your kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom all have a certain kind of flooring that matches your style and each room’s needs. The garage will be no different.
Here are some options:
An unfinished concrete slab is dusty and absorbs spills and stains. The least expensive option is applying a translucent or solid latex stain. These stains seal the concrete and give it a more consistent look. Staining typically costs between 2 and 4 dollars per square foot.
Concrete paint is another option. However, paint simply isn’t durable enough to hold up to hot tires or chemicals for long. A gallon of concrete paint will cost you around $33.
