How to Hang a Picture Without Making a Mess

By: Thomas Boni

Post-It notes — we all love them, and we use them all the time. But here’s a use you may not have thought of: We’re about to drill a hole in this wall to hang a picture and we’re gonna use the Post-It note to catch the dust.
Here’s how it’s done.

First, put the note just a half-inch or so below where you’re gonna drill the hole — then fold the note up and crease it until it forms a little trough that’ll catch the dust.

When you drill the hole, the dust will fall right into the Post-It note.

Then, you just carefully peel the Post-It note off the wall. You don’t have to worry about it damaging the paint because it won’t.

And if you need to drill two or three closely spaced holes, just get yourself a larger Post-It note.
