Blackie with her self-watering dog bowl.

I’m going out of town for a few days, and I want to make sure Blackie has plenty of water while I’m gone. So, I converted an ordinary pet bowl into a self-watering bowl using a piece of 1×2, a couple of machine screws, some wire, and a 2-liter water bottle.

Watch the video to see how it’s done.

I love this idea! I have a Collie Shepard mix, Beagle puppy a year old this month & 3 cats in the house that share 2 water bowls. Well 1 is a wash basin you use when you’re in the hospital. They all drink a lot. So I’m going to be making a couple of these for them. And I just finished watching your 10/8 TV show about the couple who’s house flooded. I am in LOVE with the wood accent wall. And I want a nail gun…lol. I was also wondering where to find the project Chelsey mentioned Checking in with Chelsey? I ling to be a woodworker & to be able to do concrete work. My Dad worked with concrete most of his life. I wish I had paid more attention & worked with him. And now my own health problems limit what I can do. I have degenerative disc disease & a herniated disc in my lower back now. I had 4 discs & 2 bone spurs removed from my neck the day after Easter this year. I also have Fibromyalgia & Chronic fatigue syndrome. But my mind wants to do everything! And you all inspired me more today. I’m going to watch some if the old shows now. Thanks for such a great show.
