One of the best ways to store hand tools is in a drawer, so they are protected from dust and dirt.

One problem is they have a tendency to roll around and bang into each other, which can damage them.

The solution is lining the drawer with a piece of carpeting. We’re using a carpet tile cut to size with a pair of utility scissors.

The trick is spraying the carpet with spray lubricant. The carpet will keep the tools from rolling around as much, and the lubricant will prevent rust.
